Renovation of the Nesserlander Lock

The bascule bridge in the harbour area of Emden crosses over the road “An der Nesserlander Schleuse” above the shipping passage between the outer and inner harbours. After 100 years of operation, the bridge, which was originally inaugurated in 1888, underwent a total renovation and redesign. The new bridge opens and closes within 90 seconds.
