Rethe Bridge

With a span of 104.20 meters, the Rethe Bridge is Europe’s largest bascule bridge. It increases the passage width for shipping traffic from 20 to 64 meters. The road and port railway traffic are allocated to separate superstructures. Based on its innovative design, the Rethe Bridge was distinguished with the 2020 German Bridge Construction Prize.
